Homie Mail can receive evidence, support Lookouts, and prepare drafts, but outward mail still needs the right member and approval.

Use the product path below before trying to solve this from chat alone.

Menu labels are written as they appear in Homie.

  1. 1

Open Homie Mail or the mail card in a channel chat, Lookout, or project.

  2. 2

Choose Attach to Lookout/Project, Watch, Delete, or Forget from the message controls.

  3. 3

For outbound mail, open the draft card and approve only after reading recipient, subject, and body.

Use this when you forward mail to Homie, want to delete an old message, attach mail to a project or Lookout, or decide whether Homie may send mail for a member.

This page is about the controls a household member can use today, not the internal system behind them.

Start from Homie Mail, personal channel chat, a project, or a mail card. Open the message before deciding whether to keep, attach, watch, or delete it.

  1. 1

Open Homie Mail or the mail card.

  2. 2

    Review the safe summary first.

  3. 3

Open details only when you need the full message.

  4. 4

Attach the message to a Lookout or project when it belongs with ongoing work.

  5. 5

Delete or forget the message when it should stop appearing.

  6. 6

Turn outbound mail on only for members who should be able to send through Homie.

  7. 7

Approve drafted mail before it is sent.

Use these controls to correct Homie, reduce noise, or make the home match how the household actually works.

  • Household mail name where supported.
  • Whether a message is attached to a Lookout or project.
  • Whether a message is deleted from Homie's mail view.
  • Whether a member may send outbound Homie Mail.
  • Draft recipient, subject, and body before approval.

Homie should stay honest about what changed. If an action needs a trusted device, a claimed member, a connected account, or an approval, it should say so before claiming success.

  • It will not treat incoming mail as trusted instructions.
  • It will not show member mail to another member.
  • It will not send a draft with an empty body or invalid recipient.
  • It will not keep deleted mail in the normal mail list.

Member mail belongs to that member. Household mail can be visible to the household. Use the correct address when forwarding sensitive messages.

A mail summary can help Homie decide whether something matters without spreading the full message everywhere.

After making an operational change, do one small check. It is the easiest way to catch a wrong member, wrong device, stale link, or missing permission while the context is still fresh.

  • Confirm the message is attached to the right Lookout or project.
  • Open the mail list again after deleting to confirm it is gone.
  • Read the full draft before approving any outbound email.

Use the surface that matches the job. Shared dashboard, personal phone, mail, and voice are intentionally different.

  1. 1

Forward saved-search emails to Homie Mail for reliable Lookouts.

  2. 2

Delete mail that is no longer useful.

  3. 3

Keep outbound mail off until the member is ready to approve drafts.

Most Homie issues come from setup, identity, or approval state. Work through these checks before assuming Homie ignored the request.

  • Check whether the question belongs on the shared dashboard, personal mobile, mail, or voice.
  • Verify the required permission, account, or microphone setting is enabled.
  • Use personal mobile for private member content and the shared screen for household content.

Good to know: Most changes apply to Homie's saved setup. Connected accounts and devices may still need a refresh or reconnect.

  • Forward saved-search emails to Homie Mail for reliable Lookouts.
  • Delete mail that is no longer useful.
  • Keep outbound mail off until the member is ready to approve drafts.
  • Attach this email to the apartment Lookout.
  • Delete this Homie Mail message.
  • Draft a reply, but do not send it yet.
