Join Homie on your phone
A welcome link starts setup. The phone becomes personal only after the household handoff verifies and claims it.
A welcome link starts setup. The phone becomes personal only after the household handoff verifies and claims it.
Use the product path below before trying to solve this from chat alone.
Menu labels are written as they appear in Homie.
- 1
Open the welcome link on the phone that should become personal.
- 2
Finish the profile and account steps on that same phone.
- 3
If the wrong phone opened the link, ask the household owner to create a fresh invite.
A welcome invite lets a member enter profile details, choose optional account connections, and finish setup on the phone they will actually use.
At the end, Homie checks the invite and claims that phone for the member. Until that succeeds, the phone should not show private member content.
Homie can use the invite details, the person being invited, the profile fields they enter, their presence choice, and the accounts they choose to connect.
After the handoff succeeds, Homie can treat that phone as the member's private surface. That is what lets personal chats, member settings, and connected accounts stay separate from the shared dashboard.
The public welcome page does not directly change household data. The trusted home setup verifies the handoff before the member and phone are connected.
The invite needs a valid home link. After setup, that phone becomes a trusted device and opens the personal Homie experience.
If the wrong phone opens the invite, stop and send a new invite to the correct person. The phone used during handoff is the one Homie will trust for that member.
Personal Homie works only when the phone is claimed by that person. If the phone is not claimed, private screens stay unavailable.
Start by checking the practical setup question: which device is this, which person owns it, and which skill or account is actually connected.
- 1
Open the welcome link on the phone you will actually use.
- 2
Finish setup on that same phone.
- 3
Review connected accounts after joining.
Most Homie issues come from setup, identity, or approval state. Work through these checks before assuming Homie ignored the request.
- Check whether the device is trusted, claimed, and named correctly.
- Open the relevant settings or Skills card and confirm setup is complete.
- Try the same request with the exact device, member, room, account, or skill name.
Good to know: Open invite claims are temporary. The privacy policy describes default 24 hour expiry and a maximum of 30 days.
